What is the Full Metal Cruise?

experience an authentic head banging fest on the high seas and simultaneously enjoy the comforts on board of a cruise liner. Top calibre heavy metal and rock bands play on three different stages. In addition further concerts are held at the ports of call. Additional to this there is a wide-ranging supporting programme including metal karaoke, meet & greet as well as autograph sessions, all star jams, comedy, readings, and musicians workshops – in a nutshell, in addition to the music, the Full Monty when it comes to the festival experience.
After the successful first cruise in May 2013 and the rapidly sold out Full Metal Cruise II & III which both have set sails in 2015, Metalheads can now look forward to a fourth edition of the Full Metal Cruise.

What makes this cruise stand out?

For the fourth Full Metal Cruise the Mein Schiff 1 sets sail towards Scandinavia once again. The journey starts at Hamburg (GER) and ends in Kiel (GER). All concerts will take place on board. A real deal for metal fans who visit festivals: on the Full Metal Cruise all food in most restaurants is already included in the cruise ticket. And so are the Full Metal Drinks – beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea, non-alcoholic cocktails and various wines. Moreover, after 6 pm there is a huge choice of spirits, cocktails and long drinks.

The Full Metal Cruise takes place from September 03rd-08th, 2016 on Mein Schiff 1.

Who is the operator for the Full Metal Cruise IV?

TUI Cruises are the tour operators for the cruise, taking care of the journey. ICS Festival Service GmbH, promoters of the legendary Heavy Metal festival „Wacken Open Air“, are responsible for artists and supporting programme.

Where are the ports of call?

Mein Schiff 1 sails from Hamburg (GER) via Oslo (NOR) Copenhagen (DNK) before returning to it´s final destination in Kil (GER).

Is smoking allowed on board?

All cabins and public spaces on Mein Schiff 1 are no-smoking zones. Smoking is only allowed on private balconies and verandas as well as in the designated areas. All cigarettes and other tobacco products must be completely stubbed out in the ashtrays provided. To minimise the risk of fire it is strictly prohibited to throw cigarettes or other tobacco products overboard from the outdoor decks, balconies and verandas.

Is there any age limit on this cruise?

Passengers have to be 18 or over or travel in the company of a legal guardian to take part in the Full Metal Cruise IV.

Can I take my own alcohol on board?

If you buy any bottles of alcohol as souvenirs in the port, our colleagues on board will be happy to store them on board for you during the cruise and hand them back when you leave. It is not allowed to take alcohol purchased on shore into the cabins.

Is there internet on board?

There are several internet computers on Deck 6, where guests can check their e-mails or surf the net for a fee. Additionally, there is WiFi in all public areas of the ships, available also for a fee.
